COLOR OF LIGHT II
In 2016, still fascinated by the effects of light over Portage Bay, I revisited my Color of Light series. The focal point is still the turquoise boat shed roofs, but these paintings jump to a much larger scale and change medium. The underlying 4x4 grid continues to provide structure to the composition, but now I have broken out of it with subtle color shifts to suggest the passage of time and weather.
COLOR OF LIGHT I
This work is selected from a three-year series that explored the effects of light that I view from my home overlooking Portage Bay in Seattle. The focal point in each of the paintings is the distant turquoise roof color of the boat sheds across the water.
